I have a Web application that has at the root level a logon page that work
off forms authentication. Works no problems. However i have a subdirectory
/mobile of which i want to provide a separate logon page and authentication
that overrides the root web application without making it an application in
it own right.

I have tried using another web.config file in the subdirectory but it just
causes an error.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

AFAIK, this is not possible. I am using the following solution: As login
page I am using the mobile version. If request is not made from mobile
device, I''ll redirect user to normal login page.

Hi Toby,

Michael is correct. If you want a subfolder to do it''s own authentication,
it must be an application.
You can certainly have web.configs in each of the folders, whether it''s an
app or not, but there are certain sections that can only be put into an
application, such as authentication. As you have found out, a web.config
that has one of these sections and is not in an application will cause a
config error.

Michael seems to have a good workaround for this, I encourage you to give
his approach a try.

Actually, I meant back to regular laughing. hahahahaha

Because it really is quiet hard and rather ridiculous to laugh like the
count all day.

hehehehe

And some, like you, are born to spend your life hiding
in a room somewhere trying to convince people that they
are magickal adepts.

You'd give your right arm to be a leader. But you aren't.

And you clearly think you are superior to everyone.

What the hell is that?

Now back on-topic:

"Witch" is just another synonym for magician. A true witch
is a real magician.

There are none of these in the 'neo-pagan' sub-sub-culture
except a few who are pretending to be 'neo-pagans' for
reasons of their own.

:-) I actually believe that. The education system is so corrupt
that it's unbelievable.

What teacher? There isn't anyone here but me who knows anything
about magick.

That reveals more about sidiot's intentions than much of what others may
post.

Clearly, sidiot does believe such nonsense about himself, especially given
his "There isn't anyone here but me who knows anything about magick" comment
in this thread.

Exactly; sidiot's "teacher" is obviously a figment of his dementia
concerning the delusions of his own "inner reality".

That is manifestly untrue; sidiot knows almost nothing of "magick", however,
he does know a little about making false claims he has no intention of
backing up.
