A business has a web product written around Commerce Server 2000.
Apparently this is supposed to not work with SQLServer 2005, I forget
(if I ever heard) the technical reasons - won't even run on Windows
Server 2003, or something, and SQLServer 2005 won't run on, um, Server
2000? Something like that.
My question is whether anyone has any experience with getting an app
disentangled from Commerce Server. Their plan was to write it in C#
pretty much from scratch, IIRC. Previous code was mostly in VB6
objects, I think, and likely some in ASP, more about shopping carts
and payment infrastructure than site presentation.
Any hints or tips or rumors or stories about what the issues might be
here, are welcome.
