installing on vista

Hi,

I just got a new computer with windows vista, big mistake,
I install python 2.4 ok, but the win32 package keeps saying it cannot
find the python instaltion in the registry, help!!!!!

Out of curiosity, have you tried installing an ActiveState Python
package, since those typically include the win32 package (and PythonWin
IDE)

Or... Are you running both installs from the same admin account? I'm
grabbing at straws -- win32 may be looking in "local machine" registry,
but plain Python I think can be installed as a "user" and, maybe, the
registry entry is being written to the user specific section of the
registry.
