Tom Shelton is a Dick Brain

Michael Williams

5/28/2010 6:33:00 PM

I notice that the Tom Shelton idiot has shown his true colours again and has
started spamming the comp.lang group with this dotnet crap now that his
Micro$oft masters have decided to close his favourite spamming haunt! I
think we should all go to the new Micro$oft dotnet forums and give them
something to moderate, mentioning the Tom Shelton spammer's name in each one
so they will know why we are doing it.

Mike that post was an accident. I thought I was in the VB.NET group.
I have been reading comp.lang.basic.visual.misc longer then I have the
ms groups. There just hasn't been much activity over there for a
while.

And you know what - IMHO, your on even more shackey ground with your
anti-.net stuff over there then you are here. You point to where in
that groups charter where it says that it's for VB.JURRASIC only?

<quote>
VI. The COMP.LANG.BASIC.VISUAL.MISC Charter:
The .misc group is required by Usenet guidelines, and will be a
place for any discussions of topics which are not covered by the
other three groups. Topics might include queries on Visual Basic
methods, or API commands, applications of the standard set of
controls, general use of the BASIC language, general discussion
about programming techniques, general concepts of event-driven
programming, etc...

The .misc group would basically replace the current
comp.lang.basic.visual discussion group where all of the above
topics (and more) are being discussed daily. The split of the
other groups should drastically reduce the amount of volume in
this "catch all" group.

This will be an unmoderated group.
</quote>

I'm willing to respect you and the other active posters desire to not
discuss .NET - but, if I should accidently post a response like that,
well all I can do is say sorry... I do not actively encourage anyone
to use .NET. If you want to continue with a technology that has been
outdated for almost a decade - why should I care? As long as your
happy - have at it.

As much as I appreciate that (and might dislike the rude
threadopener-post from Mike here) ...

.... fine then...but reading the line above I though have my doubts...

your VB.Jurassic term yet "ringing").

What has all this VBclassic-bashing of yours in mind, if not
"a suggestion", to use an alleged "better technology"?

Is e.g. the "Python-Universe" an "outdated technology"?
Is Fortran an "outdated technology"?
Is C, C++, Java?

Boy when the Win-Platform is choosen as the "compile-target"
in any of the above mentioned languages within their available
IDEs (for windows), then VBclassic and its current IDE is yet
by far more RADish (here and now in 2010) than any of them.
It was a masterpiece at its time - and it yet (10 years later)
shines and stands out in the important field of "efficient application-
programming for the Win-platform".

The "newer VS-IDEs" are only "another option" - an option which
in the meantime should be known by any VBclassic-developer
by now (no need to mention it permanently in an offtopic manner,
over and over again in this group), and an option which apparently
is causing a distaste among many developers here due to all the
very wellknown reasons - the last one only a few weeks past.

Like I said, you're a troll. Why don't you try providing useful answers to
real questions for a change.

I try to avoid posting VB.NET code on these groups - but, it has been
known on a rare occasion respond wiht a .NET answer because I thought I
was in the .NET group... I read both.

Not sure what that means - I accidently posted to the wrong group. It
might happen again, but I don't do it on purpose. That was just
apologizing in advance for future mistakes.

I do not bash VB.CLASSIC. I used that term specifically to annoy Mike.
Given the tone of his post - did you not expect a little annoyance to
show through?

Anyway, I don't want to get in to a discussion about this... Choices
have been made, and there is no point in rehasing a discussion that has
been going on since 2000.

I do. The answer that I posted was very releavent and useful to the
group I thought I was in. It just happend to be in the wrong group.

And if I seemed a little trollish in my response, gee Mike I wonder
why? Wouldn't you be a little peeved if a grumpy old a$$ hole had just
posted that you were a "dick brain" for trying to help someone?

Your a real piece of work.

I accept your apology, despite you calling me a grumpy old a$$ hole ;-)

Do you know why no one believes you? Because you've done it multiple times in the past and hid behind the same excuse. You have a history of lying and being deceitful. It's been apparent for some time now you will take any opportunity you can find in to inject .Nxt into any conversation you want for no other reason than to distract and confuse with the same excuse: It was an accident. I didn't mean to, I forgot. It's not my fault. Why are you angry with me, I didn't do nuffin'!

No one believes you. You would do better to stay in your crappy, badly designed and moderated MSFT forums where you can mingle with those of your kind and leave the Usenet forums to the professionals.

I suppose you can post message id's that confirm your accusations? If
not, I only have one thing to say - FOAD. To be prefectly honest
Kevin, I have very little respect for you or your technical abilities.
I may not agree with Mike and we may have had some harsh words on
occasion - but, I do respect him. I have seen him actually post
technically useful information - something I rarely see from you. In
other words, I have reason to believe that he actually knows what he's
talking about.

Most of what I see from you is hate. Personally, I think you are a
bigger troll then the people you accuse of such behavior. Don't expect
any further responses from me directly to you. It's not that I have
you plonked or anything - I get to much enjoyment watching you look
like a stupid, foul mouthed ass - it's just that I don't consider you
worth responding to. It's about like talking to the stuff sticking to
the bottom of my shoe.

If you'd thought, it wouldn't have happened.
