This is why the game is popular. Anyone in reasonable physical condition with normal reflexes can play a decent game. This is definitely not the case with the four real sports mentioned where exceptional skills, strength and reflexes are required. It makes soccer more accessible to the masses which is also why it is the most-played game.

You don't produce strong enough people to play it.

In my country, that could get you sued, Adam. But we don't idict immature silly little boys....I imagine it's the same across the pond.

Do you ever wonder about the impression that your petulant, silly posts create? Probably not.

I don't know whether you have noticed, but real football is a team game requiring great skill and ball control. Have you ever watched a rugby match?

Impersonating a Ph.D can get you sued? Fortunately for you, you are
not doing a very good job of it.

I know more than I want to know about you from your moronic behavior in
any number of newsgroups on Usenet. There may, indeed, by a Worthington,
somewhere, with a Ph.D, but you're just a Usenet troll.

Well to be fair RichA is Canadian, but Canada plays "American"
football but with slightly different rules and the field is a little
bigger.

That said there has been wild interest in American NFL football in
Great Britain for over the past 10 years and world wide Superbowl
viewings have been increasing. Still no where near what we call soccer
aka "futbol" and I doubt it would ever over take it but it is gaining
in popularity. They have even played a few NFL sanctioned games over
there, games that actually count in terms of counting towards the
league championship IIRC.

no there hasn't.
you'll only hear it mentioned on tv over here as a 30 second throwaway
comment on the occasion when a game is played over here.
nobody talks about it, generally people look down on it due to the use
of armour which rugby players manage to cope perfectly well without.
