How to remove a remote source from gem 'remote sources'

Markus Arike

8/19/2008 1:47:00 PM

Good afternoon, everyone.

On Ruby 1.8.6 on Mac OS 10.5.4, I'm having some problems with common gem
operations that I never experienced previously.

Currently, $ gem list -remote fails with:

WARNING: RubyGems 1.2+ index not found for:
http://mer...

RubyGems will revert to legacy indexes degrading performance.
Bulk updating Gem source index for: http://gems.ruby...
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::RemoteFetcher::FetchError)
bad response Not Found 404 (http://mer.../Marshal.4.8)

My remote sources are:

- REMOTE SOURCES:

and my initial thought was to temporarily remove the
http://mer...e entry. (Also I have double github entries.) I
wasn't able to locate it the command to alter gem search path, so any
ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a gem command to delete or change remote sources?

Thanks in advance for any assistance on this issue.

That did the trick, that you very much. $ gem list --remote no longer
fails.
Thank you, Fred.

I'd be interested to know, what are the essential sources for gem
repositories that people use?

I have github and rubyforge. Are there others that I'm missing?

And that's what you're claiming for yourself with your statement above =
"....what I decide".

Hey gobbler, dogma = truth revealed by God. It's not man made.

At end of the day you will have to bend your knee.

Their [your] real creed...

"I impute myself with the righteousness of Christ by
what..............I...............decide is faith".

You were told.

According to you, only if you decide it's right.

Insinuate what you like.

The fact of your religion...

"I impute myself with the righteousness of Christ by
what..............I...............decide is faith".

You were told.

I don't have to insinuate. You clearly stated it.

Haven't you heard? Mike believes he is the only one who has a
"personal relationship with God"; everyone except Mike isn't a child
of God; professed Christians are just readers and quoters of the Bible
and followers of "man-made doctrines" that aren't in the Bible and who
don't know Christ and whom Christ doesn't know (i.e. rejects).

Gal. 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ
Jesus.

Rom. 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we
are the children of God:
....
Rom. 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from
the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of
God.

1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children
of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither
he that loveth not his brother.
....
1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we
love God, and keep his commandments.

What about it Michael; is it true what Linda has said ? Quote;

" Mike believes he is the only one who has a

They speak out of what they fear and twist what you say out of that
fear.

It is a sensible thing to fear because it can be a strong force to
compel a person to take the right path. However with man-made
christians in particular that benefit is more than often squandered
through self-righteousness and striving to prove themselves right in
their religion.

They are 'good' sinners, Rod, only there is no such thing. :-).
