Ruby and Db2 (UDB) setting the Node (dbpartition

Any idea on how to set the node (dbpartition)? The db2 CLP commands
recongnize the partition set by the DB2NODE env. variable but the db2
api for ruby, still sees Node 0.

db_conn = IBM_DB::connect "#{dbname}", "#{user}", "#{password}"

Any idea on how to set the node (dbpartition)?
