[ANN] One-Click Ruby Installer 186-26 Release Candidate 1

Curt Hibbs

10/16/2007 8:18:00 PM

This updates Ruby to 1.8.6 patch level 111 (lots
of bug fixes since 1.8.6 was released). It also
updates most of the included extensions to their
latest versions (see the change log).

The final release won't happen until after
RubyGems 0.9.5 is released (which should be any
day now) because we want the latest RubyGems
version to be included. However, we're putting out
this release candidate now to give you a chance to
try out everything else while we wait!

Great effort Curt, and highly valued!

Especially since I had to go without One-Click recently, as you know. :-)
It was a reminder of the continual work put in by many to keep this
community moving forward. Thanks to all!

Clifford Heath.

Hopefully it's just me, but after installing this, my system path
variable was overwritten to just the ruby bin path.

Thanks,

Gordon

Did you have a previous One-Click-Installation before?

Also, how long was your previous path (we've had problems with paths >

While I can't be certain, I'd say it's very possible it was longer
than 256 chars.

In my case, my path was totally wiped out!!!

And yes, my path was longer than 256.

I had no problem with previous releases of Ruby, including Ruby 186
patch level 000.

I had to uninstall and reinstall (for other reasons than installation
problems) and had no problems with the path until the 3rd
installation.
