[ANN] ActiveWarehouse ETL 0.6.0 Released

Anthony Eden

3/9/2007 4:26:00 AM

ActiveWarehouse ETL 0.6.0 has been released.

A bit of background: ActiveWarehouse ETL is an open source (MIT
licensed) Ruby library which supports the Extract-Transform-Load
process that is typically required by data warehouse developers. It is
part of the ActiveWarehouse project which is a plugin for Ruby on
Rails which makes it easy to develop data warehouses on Rails.

More information on ActiveWarehouse ETL and ActiveWarehouse in general
can be found at http://activewarehouse.ruby...

This release is a pretty significant one as the ETL component of
ActiveWarehouse has been put through its paces quite a bit recently.
This release includes a slew of new features and enhancements,
including support for row-level processing/transforming, both after
load and before write, new transforms like the
HierarchyLookupTransform and the DefaultTransform, improved interface
for transformations, an Apache Combined Log parser, improvements to
the SAX parser, timestamped log files, automatic timestamped local
storage of source data if it is extracted from a database for
auditing, a :conditional option in destinations which can be supplied
a proc and which can determine if a row should be written, a simple
control-file dependency declaration and a bunch of other fixes and
minor improvements.

This release should be up on the RubyForge gem mirrors within an hour,
or you can get it from the ActiveWarehouse files section at
http://rubyforge.org/frs/?gro... on RubyForge.

Sincerely,
Anthony Eden

ø 1- looking ahead a few years, the gov
recognizes that the over runs will dwarf the
federal outlay.

2- All that Obama did was allow ss couples
to file their income tax as married.

So much for American Exceptionalism...

All the countries that built high-speed rail on time and under budget
- up to and including the Chunnel - they are all, what, LESS
incompetent than us?

The wingnuts screwed the pooch, a couple minutes after all their
candidates took office. They have nothing to go on, so Obama took
advantage of their weak position to throw his base a bone. So they
will trumpet BS about DOMA, rallying the same people who would rally
over any other BS cause - birtherism, stealth Muslimism, socialism,
secret death camps, Soros, whatever...

He doesn't have the authority to do that. That would be an IRS call.

It's driving him crazy.

As is Gov. Scott ... for not taking Obamas
borrowed money, for doing the right and
sensible thing, for ruining the schemes of
contractors and landowners to overcharge
out the ass until the last 'free' dollar
for this pointless project was gone.

If Scott keeps this up, he'd be a worthy
presidential contender dontchathink ?

Yes. Because they don't have Repugnants always getting in the way of
progress. The present-era Repugnant is the curse of Reagan upon
America. In fact, it could even be viewed as Tecumseh's curse
transferred over to becoming Reagan's curse. Reagan was supposed to
bite the bullet what an attempt was made on his life because he was
elected in a year ending in zero, just as every other president died
in office when elected in a year ending in zero since 1840. But
because Reagan dodged the bullet, it just meant the curse had to work
itself against America in some other way. What better way to keep
punishing the US for the wrong it did against the Indians than to
unleash the full force and fury and idiocy of Repugnants upon the
nation to plague it for decades or even centuries? Aside from nuking
all Repugnants, who knows what it'll take to break Reagan's curse.
