dnssd and avahi?

Has anybody got the dnssd gem to build against avahi?

avahi supposedly has howl and bonjour compatibility add-ons. I've installed
those (and the headers) and it still does'nt fly.

Just wondered if anyone else had cracked it before I dive in.
