Couple of Q's for MS

Alex Clark

Question #1 is, why aren't there any WPF newsgroups? I can't find any
groups with WPF or XAML in the title. Also, the only groups for Expression
are in German (.de). Are the news-groups going the way of the dinosaur?

Question #2 - I know you guys don't like giving out release dates, but could
we get some hint as to when Expression Blend 2.5 is going RTM? The last
preview was June, and there hasn't been any news about potential release
dates since then. A lot of people are planning new projects around this.
Without giving the game away, could someone at least narrow the timeframe
down? Are we expecting it this quarter? This year? (This decade, lol)

Thanks,
Alex Clark

Please understand that most of the content supplied in these newsgroups does
NOT come from Microsoft staff.

If you are an MSDN subscription holder, you can register your email address
for Microsoft newsgroup support.

I am, and it is, which is why I posted here FAO them. They should respond
within 48hrs or so, they're usually really good about that.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Since this is not a technical question but rather a question about MSDN
subscription offering benefit, our team is really not the best one to
answer that.

Anyway, I've forwarded your question to MSDN subscription offering team and
I will let you know if we get any update from them.

Thanks for your understanding.

Best regards,

Hi Alex,

Regarding your #2 question about Expression Blend 2.5 release date, I've
searched and also couldn't find any public information on this. Please
understand that even if I can find some internal information on this, we're
also not allowed to reveal in public newsgroup. I believe when our product
group settle down the release date, we will have an official announcement.

Thanks.

There are groups for WPF (as well as WCF, WF, and so on) - but because
they were created way before release of those technologies, back when
there were no official names, and only release codenames, they use the
latter in their names. Thus, the WPF newsgroup is actually
microsoft.public.windows.developer.winfx.avalon.
