Ruby formal syntax

Hi all,

I've been looking at the pseudo BNF from
http://www.ruby-doc.org/docs/ruby-doc-bundle/Manual/man-1.4/... and
I'm wondering if there are any differences between 1.4 and 1.8 (and I know
I should probably just check the parser specification, but I thought I'd
start here) and if anybody has a formal syntax for Ruby just lying around
