Hi, I'm having a problem that got me crazy:
I have an Oracle 8i database on a server (8.1.7)
I have a client PC with the oracle client (8.1.7) and odbc driver
(8.1.78.00) ehich is a web server

I can access the database from a windows form and odbc.net with no problem,
but when i try to use it from ASP.NET it just do a beep and hang the
session. I gave all the permissions to ASPNET and IUSR_xxxx users to oracle
and windows directories with no luck.

any clue?

I'm sort of desparate need this

thanx in advance

Fernando,

You are running into permissions issue. I could not tell or anybody out there where this problem is. It could be on the file system or the registry. Plus you may need to add the
IWAM account if the website is set to use Medium or high isolation. I usually recommend using an auditing tool to get you exactely what resoource is causing an Access
denied. There is FileMon and RegMon utilities from Http://WWW.SysInternal.Com. You may want to add the IUSR and IWAM account to the registry so that the ODBC key
have permissions for them. Use Regedt32 to set the permissions o nthe registry.

I hope this helps!
