Hi Casey,

I'll see what I can find out.

For other readers:

1) "SPOT" is a new (and not yet released) technology that's just recently
been announced. It has something to do with enabling small devices (like
watches) to easily communicate with PC's.

2) It is NOT related to the .NET Framework, or ASP.NET, or the mobile
devices web development functions of the Framework.

Hi Casey,

Smart Personal Objects Technology (SPOT) is mainly a communications
function. It uses FM radio signals to allow communication to very small
devices, including which require minimal battery usage for long battery
life such as wrist watches.

The home page for this technology is:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/spot/def...

To sign up for notifications of news pertaining to SPOT, go to this site:

Guess that will motivate me to get an amateur radio license now.
I'm thinking SPOT pirate radio broadcasts.

BTW, what is the .mspx file extension?

Hi Casey,

Since this technology has not yet been release (even as a beta), it's hard
to track down information.

1)
Please sign-up for the "SPOT" auto-notify function for news and info. When
you see news that something (such as a beta) is being released, look for
contact info. If you see that something is being released and you cannot
find any contact info, then contact me directly and I'll see what I can do
-- remove "online." from my no spam alias: michmo@online.microosft.com.

2)
If you are trying to create a product which uses this technology and you
want to join some form of technology partnership, then contact me now and
I'll try to find someone to talk to you.

Thank you, Mike Moore
