I recently loaded FP2000 with my xp pro and i can not get
frontpage to open my web site. (Timed out message) I was
told by Microsoft that new version of FP would not work
with my website and i would have to start all over again.
Please Help!

Here's what happened to me:

I had FP2000 loaded on my windows 98se at home. I also had the FP2000 loaded
on my xp pro at work. I couldn't get either one to work on the site.

Went down and got FP 2003 upgrade, which will work on the xppro. It turns
out it will not work on the 98se. So I looked for the FP2002 up grade. No
one had it. I had to settle for the FP2002 original full version ($190).
When I got the FP2002 loaded it turned out that the logon request was
different. It asked for The User Name: - The Password AND "The Domain Name".
The 2003 up grade only asked for the User name and Password.

My 2000 version did ask for the three items, however I didn't want to reload
the 2000 version after spending that much money to see if that was the
problem.

I now work at home with FP2002 full version and FP2003 update version at
work. My 2003 upgrade version for the xp pro ran about $ 100 after rebate.

If your FP2000 version is asking for "three logon answers" that may be your
problem. The experts may have a different answer, or you might have to do
what I did and get an upgrade for the xp pro.

Good Luck

PS.
I was never able to get a determination if the server's use of newer
software for the Front Page format was a possible source of the problem. My
server said no, however I've talked to others who say that's a possibiltiy.
You might want to contact your server to clarify the issue.
Again, Good Luck
