I d/l the latest VB2008 BOL and the message pops up with:
"This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer
service. You must install a Windows service pack that contains a newer
version of the Windows Installer service."
I went out to Windows update and promptly installed the WINXP SP3 update (I
was at SP2). Tried again. Same message. I understand that there is a newer
version Installer (V4.?). Is this a Vista thing? How do I get it? Am I
going in the wrong direction?
I could really use the references from the Books Online.
A newbie who needs a little help. :(
