small consulting job parsing web pages

peajoe

Greetings,

I am looking for someone to do some small programming jobs for me in
ruby. Maybe one small program each month for the next year or two.

The programs mainly consist of fetching a html web page, maybe passing
some login information, getting some more pages and parsing particular
data items from them for insertion into a mysql database. (You don't
need to know much about mysql.)

Most of the programs I have are written in perl, and mostly work, but
all my new stuff will be in ruby.

If this is something that is in your interest and within your abilities
please email me and I will send you a sample perl program for you to
look at.

You might want to give a valid email address for people to write to. ;)

Well, that probably was the first test to get the job, right?
If you look carefully, you find the valid email address ;-)

Hi Joe,

I am very much interested in this position.
I did Ruby programming test-first this semester (at Florida Tech in
Melbourne, FL)

I will be taking 3 different courses this semester but I would like to
keep in touch with Ruby...hence the interest.

this is a valid address..but I check ashwin_ramjee@yahoo.com a lot more often.

thank you Joe
