Wow, I did not know there was something like this -I mean a program dealing
w resume only :-)

Anyway, I think I'm too dumb, I cannot find example on how to use it using
ruby. Could you kindly point me to it? sorry for dumb request.

Can the program read pdf file that is formatted for xmlresume? The docs say
one can output in pdf format, so I presume it can also read as input a pdf.
I am asking since I can think of many useful things for it for our HR
department:

1. Applicants fillout a custom format pdf file (written thru xmlresume2)
2. We feed applicants's pdfs to our application program.
3. App Program can query it first before putting fields to backedn
database..

As a result, we standardized and streamline resume processing..

Is that possible? Thank you for the xmlresume.

xmlresume2x is a CLI application. You need to specify the output format
(e.g. latex-europecv) and the language (e.g. english) and the resume
file, like this:

# xmlresume2x -f latex-europecv -l en resume.xml

The resume file read has to be an XML document (!!!) which uses the XML
Resume Library (xmlresume.sf.net) DTD. This also means, that my program
can only read XML files and NOT PDF files! For more information, have a
look at http://xmlresume2x.rubyforge.org/m...

Hmm... what if the applicants write their resume in XML? Or are these
applicants non-technical-people? I think that reading PDFs would be
quite complicated because there is no implicit structure.
