Programming Ruby 2nd Ed in Canada?

Kevin Proctor

Just a short question here, are there any Canucks that've found the new
PickAxe in bookstores yet? I've been looking but it's not in any
Chapters or even any of the tech book stores I frequent here in Ottawa.
The other Pragmatic Press books are fairly widely available(I got
Automation myself) but not the big dog.

I notice that it's available online from Chapters but was curious if
it's actually being sold in stores anywhere in the country.

Thanks for any info...

I saw it in Barnes and Noble the other day in Kennesaw, GA.

I don't think Georgia is in Canada. =)

Opps! Despite two references to Canada in the original email I still
didn't get that aspect of the question when I responded. That is what I
get for responding to questions long after I should have gone to bed. :)

Next time you're in the store, could you ask the assistant what the
status is. If they claim it's not available, I'll find out why--it's
supposed to be.

Kevin,

Chapters.ca allows adding 3 stores to it's interface, and will show
availability for those.

Unfortunately, it's only 3. In Toronto, there are probably 10 that I
drive near in a a given week. Still easy enough to do 3, then swap in
another 3.

Checking 4 Chapters and the "World's Biggest Book Store", I came up
empty. I'd guess it's not yet in stores here. However, the site does
say "usually ships in 24 hours"

Funny enough, the first time I heard of Ruby was the 1st edition being
on dispay in a Chapters. They had 20 books on the end of an isle, and
my reaction was "What the %$% is Ruby". I was shamed that I hadn't
even heard of it, being the info-geek I am. To my further shame, it
was another 2 years before I bought the book though.
