Probable Bug

Hi:
I'm using Odbcnet provider with Sybase Anywhere 5.5 Server, and I step
on the following problem:
I receive a NO_DATA exception when sing an ExecuteScalar call on a Command
thet returns an string when the result is an empty string. The row actually
exists in the database, so the result should be an empty string, I could
even accept a null result , but not an exception.
Have u people seen this with other servers?
MS people, what are your comments?
