I was wondering why there is a need for a separate tool for writing mobile
applications, which comes with a separate set of controls. Since the Mobile
Internet Toolkit is so much ASP.NET alike, why wasn't just possible to
enhance the existing ASP.NET server controls to take care of generating the
appropriate output for mobile devices? They sniff the browser to target its
capabilities anyway. If this was done, we don't have to create two set of
the same pages - one for uplevel browsers, the other for mobile devices.
Perhaps there was a sound reason for separating them, such as the fact that
ASP.NET pages are usually much reacher in content.

Can we expect in the future ASP.NET and Mobile Internet Tookit to merge?
