Odd I found no metion of Ruby. Right article, or did I miss?

I did find this:

Type safety: "Things like type safety are now taken for granted. When I was an
undergraduate at Swansea University, we thought it was a novelty when the C
compiler told you if you passed a floating value to a function instead of an
integer."

That's Not RUBY! "Quack" ;)

That's Alan Cox the Linux kernel guy... not Brad Cox the Objective-C
guy.

Hi Stephan,

In which way does the article mention ruby? It does not seem to contain
any related words at all...
Or am I just slow getting the joke?

Cheers

A few minor errors:

1. It's an article by Basheera Khan.
2. It's about Alan Cox, not Brad Cox.
3. The article doesn't mention Ruby at all.

Other than that everything you said was correct.

Hi folks,

sorry for being, er, not entirely correct.

To be really precise (this time) the URL I posted is the second page of
a two page article by Basheera Khan. Which cites Alan Cox.

You're right - I wrong. "Don't be sorry, be careful" as my English
teacher uses to say.

> 3. The article doesn't mention Ruby at all.

Again I wasn't precise: What I tried (and apparently failed) to say was
that the article mentions _tainting_ which is a Ruby feature.

A German article referencing Alan Cox' article (which you can find here:
http://www.pro-linux.de/cgi-bin/NB2/nb2.cgi?show....) actually
has the word 'Ruby' in it.

I suppose I really shouldn't post, when being too tired to concentrate
on what I type.

Thanks Stephan, no need to blush.

It was an interesting article after all, using Ruby and its safety
system as sort of a role model for the "new" languages.

I noticed the english version got the "Ruby" word edited out, not
your fault at all, only the journalist thought it made no difference.

best,
