Hello,

I would like to update the cross references on my Axapta system, but I am
unsecure if this can cause any problems with the database or other places in
Axapta? Or is it completely safe to do this operation? In a matter of fact I
would also like to synchrionize the data dictionary. Can this cause any
problems as well?

Best Regards
Thomas

This is a quit long running operation, so you should better do this on a development system (The
data model should be updated on the production system though). Otherwise there are no adverse
effects besides the fact, that the cross reference will take about 1 GB of database space.

Synchronization of the Data Dictionary will only have effects if you brought in application code, by
copying aod files to your application. Otherwise Axapta will normally update the Data Dictionary if
any changes are made to it. In the above mentioned case you must be carefully because there can be
differences beetwen table and field ids on the source and destination systems.
