Activator.CreateInstance bug? (using GenuineChannels

Shaun Wilson

8/31/2004 1:54:00 AM

The following code:

System.Runtime.Remoting.ObjectHandle
objectHandle = Activator.CreateInstance(assemblyName, typeName,
activationAttributes);

o = objectHandle.Unwrap();

Result: o == null. (incorrect behavior)

Calling this code a second time causes: o == remoteobject. (correct
behavior)

I noticed that if I place a substantial delay between the calls, such
as:

System.Runtime.Remoting.ObjectHandle
objectHandle = Activator.CreateInstance(assemblyName, typeName,
activationAttributes);

System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(4000);

o = objectHandle.Unwrap();

Result: o == remoteobject. (correct behavior)

Has anyone ever seen this behavior or know what may be causing it? I am
using GenuineChannels 2.4.4, I've been working with remoting for the
better part of 2 years now and I've never had this happen.

Thanks in advance!

? The Bible's "Song of Solomon" provides useful information about T and A

Bzzzt! Most of what's in the Bible are beliefs, traditions and worshipful
verses about God, not accounts of experiences with God.
And even the supposed experiences are questionable.
