Access 97 db

I am attempting to use OLEDB for Jet 3.51 to access an Access 97 db. I can
see the db file, link to it, the connection tests ok and the tables do list,
but when I attempt to access the fields within a table I get an error
message saying that there are no fields in the file. Where have I gone
wrong?

I have also used the Jet 4.0 OLEDB driver and had the same issues, the
fields within the tables cannot be displayed. One thing that I didn't
mention is that this database is a replica, and not the design master. Could
this also be causing this problem?
