pollution of the list

Hi,
since I am on this list, I stay getting Viagra and Microsoft-Uptdate- spam.
This wasn't the case bevore. As I found out, anyone can post to the list.
So I think this is additional spam, we can easyly get rid of by rejecting
mail from unknown senders.

Is this possible? I'm surely not the first one, however I'm just asking

The list is mirrored in both directions with the newsgroup comp.lang.ruby.
So even if you'd block mails from unknown senders to the list, spammers
could still use the ng. But anyway, it might help to close the mail side.

Please look at http://www.ruby-doc.org/docs/ruby-doc-bundle/CLR-FAQ/c...
See the section 2.4.

It answers your question althought it does not solve the problem.
