Contact details for Eric Sosman

john@rightthing.invalid

7/22/2011 8:31:00 PM

Dear Forum Participant:

I lead a specialist team for a large human capital placement enterprise.
We are working on behalf of a Fortune 500 company and would like to
discuss an exciting opportunity of mutual benefit with Mr Eric Sosman,
currently employed by Sun Microsystems.

In my research so far I have failed to make contact with Mr Sosman at Sun.
However I notice that he posted regularly to this forum until October 2009.

If anyone here is in contact with Mr Sosman I would be grateful to learn
his current contact details - by preference a direct-dial desk number or
business cellphone, but an email address would also be acceptable.

Thank you for your earliest attention to this matter.

-- John

It seems your clock is off by approximately one year and nine months.

You might be legitimate, but if I was Eric Sosman I'd be worried and
suspicious at this sort of approach.

I think he got laid off at Sun and was last seen pushing
a shopping cart down Rengstorff Avenue in Sunnyvale...

But would he want to be represented by a lead head-hunter who advertises
such incompetence?

Geeze, the first thing that came to my when I saw this topic was
"Someone is trying to stalk him". Now someone correct me if I'm wrong
here, but as far as I know, it's Dr. Sosman and not Mr. Sosman.

Not that I can see. He doesn't put any professional title on any of
his profiles. At least not if it is the Eric Sosman formerly at Sun,
now at another tech company of Silicon Valley ilk.

That's not meaningful. I know plenty of PhDs who don't even put
that on their business card, let alone their webpage.

Yes, it's considered a bit showy to use your title, except in very
formal settings.

A pity, I rather like being a Dr.

Hmmm. Mr Richard Thompson, a musician of note, recently got an OBE and
an honourary doctorate. Here are his thoughts on the subject :-

I'm also reminded of this use of the title "doctor" :-)

That's some fancy logic there...I guess I'm also a PhD because
I don't put it on MY webpage...also, correct me if I'm wrong, but
as far as I know, the girl that bagged my groceries yesterday
also has a doctorate, because her name tag didn't say "Dr. Pam"...

> "Am I missing something?"

If you're missing a "Dr." in front of your name, it means
you HAVE a PhD...and by the same logic, if you brag about it,
you're probably a liar...
